Disc Decompression
Disc decompression is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that is used for those who experience back pain. This therapy can be used to treat degenerated, herniated and bulging disc conditions, sciatica, spinal stenosis and many other irregularities of the disc.
A patient who receives disc decompression therapy is placed on a computer controlled spinal decompression table which separates their lower body from the upper body. This allows for pressure to be relieved on certain joints and structures in either the lumbar or cervical regions of the spine. As a result, the decompression helps the herniated disc to return to its natural position and allows an increase in the flow of water, oxygen, and nutritional fluids into the spinal discs which help heal any injury that has been caused to the spine. The treatment lasts about 15 to 20 minutes and is recommended for patients who usually suffer from a neck or low back pain issue.
